Michiganders march for life

GAYLORD – Right to Life of Michigan has announced a record number of marchers for their annual trip Washington, D.C. on Friday for the March For Life. According to Field Representative Barbi J. Ballard-Aumiller of Right To Life of Michigan, there will be two buses leaving from Gaylord on Thursday, housing about 100 people. The buses will include people from Gaylord, Grayling, Sault Ste. Marie, Cheboygan and Traverse City among other Northern Michigan cities.

In total, more than 900 Michiganders on 18 buses are expected to make the trip from Michigan to the nation’s capital for the march.

A rally is also being held. Speakers for this event include Ben Shapiro, Abby Johnson, Dr. Alveda King (niece of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King), State Representative Katrina Jackson (D-LA), Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ), Representative Dan Lipinski (D-IL), Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) and others.

Representative Jack Bergman (R-MI) will be holding a reception for Michigan marchers as well.

Ballard-Aumiller notes the numbers of pro-lifers has been increasing.

“We’re excited about it,” she says.

Although rarely covered by the mainstream press, the March For Life is believed by those attending to be the largest gathering of any group in Washington D.C. throughout the year.
