The free, annual event Cowboy Days will be returning this weekend to CoopersVille, an outdoor museum with a western theme located between Grayling and Lewiston.
Events start each day at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. These include Cowboy and Cowgirl look-a-likes from Western movies and TV shows, Gun Fight at the O.K. Corral reenactments, fast draw competitions, knife and hatchet throwing, mechanical bull rides, shoot-outs, chicken bingo, blacksmith demonstration, wagon rides, music, 50/50 drawings, door prizes, a lunch wagon and more.
From Grayling, take take North Down River Road (a.k.a. Miller Road in Oscoda County) about 19 miles past the I-75 exit. Turn left onto Fire Tower Road. Go about one mile down Fire Tower and the museum can be seen on the left.
From Lewiston, take 489 south. Go approximately 18 miles to Miller Road. Turn right. Follow this until you reach Fire Tower Road on the right just a few miles down. Go about one mile down Fire Tower and the museum can be seen on the left.
